Subai Zheng (born in 1998, China). He completed his BA Fine Art degree at Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2020. In 2023, he earned MA Animation degree at Royal College of Art.
He is currently based in London, continuing his creations.
My current artistic practice is guided by intuition and fully immersed in the present moment of creation. The process resembles a state of subconscious or automatic drawing/painting, rarely relying on preconceived concepts or explicit meanings. In this state, I function essentially as a channel, allowing ineffable inner forces to manifest naturally through form, brushstroke, and material.
Upon completion, the work’s intention is often not immediately apparent and may resist simple interpretation. However, each piece embodies my complete sincerity, capturing and crystallizing a profound experience that transcends language. I invite viewers to immerse themselves in these subtle visual fields, interpreting them through their own perspectives and sensibilities, and finding personal resonance within.
